During the SURF Educationday on the 8th of November, SURF director Paull Rullman handed out the SURF Education awards for the first time. With the awards, SURF wants to put higher education change makers in the spotlight because of their effort in innovating education. Two out of three awards went to collegues from LDE Universities!
Farshida Zafar (EUR) won the award for best teacher because of implementing blended learning in part time law education. ‘You just have to do it,’ don’t be afraid to fail’ is her motto. The award for best director went to Anka Mulder (TUD), member of the executive board of the TU Delft. She is committed to make education more accessible and pleaded to look forward and recognize the importance of a degree for future careers. Next to this she also warned the audience to be aware of increasing diversity because of education becoming more accessible.
The third award for best ICT- and education professional went to Jan Haarhuis of the University of Utrecht.
