The novel coronavirus has shaken the Dutch educational system to its core. Schools and universities across the country shifted to online education during the nation-wide lockdown. This groundbreaking development might have come with an unintended consequence: an increasing inequality between students from wealthy and poor households.

On 30 June, the LDE Centre for Education and Learning explores the role that artificial intelligence could play in providing equal opportunities for disadvantaged students.
