Having joined the Centre for Education and Learning in September 2020, Bart dedicates the first year of his LDE-Traineeship to the application of artificial intelligence in higher education. At CEL, Bart leads the Taskforce AI in Education and conducts research into the privacy and ethical implications of these emerging technologies.
Previously, Bart has worked as an intern at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he dealt with institutional affairs at the EU-department. Additionally, he served as a graduate trainee at the Delegation of the European Union in Washington DC. Here, he focused on trade and 5G files, making him familiar with the impact of new and innovative technologies.
Bart earned an MSc and BSc in Political Science from Leiden University. In 2016, he briefly studied at Utah State University in the United States, as part of a six-month undergraduate exchange programme.
