Vera Scheepens

Job title
Manager

Since 2023, Vera is the manager of the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Centre for Education and Learning. She has over 10 years of experience in education as lecturer, international partnership manager, project lead, and team lead and has a track record in managing and streamlining education services. Since she started at the TU in 2017 she focused on the use of technology in education and delivering education support in the smoothest way as possible.

Vera did her masters in international development focussing on capacity building in (psychosocial) health staff through education programmes and did research in post-conflict emergency settings. She was intrigued by why evidence-based mental health programmes were only scarcely rolled out throughout Europe and successively completed a masters in clinical and prevention psychology.

From the day she started as lecturer in psychology she felt that education can always be further developed and improved. Especially the use of technology in education is inevitable to make learning easier, more effective, and more fun. She believes that incorporating evidence-based innovation in education is key to a sustainable future-oriented education system.
